Vermont’s Killington Resort, the largest ski and snowboard destination in Eastern North America and part of the POWDR adventure lifestyle company, welcomes new talented leaders who hail from Vermont and invites interested candidates to apply at job fairs on Oct 25 and Nov 4 at the Vermont Department of Labor Fall Career Fair.
“Killington Resort and Pico Mountain are hiring seasonal and year-round team members to deliver memorable experiences, enhance people's lives and have fun doing it,” says Rob Megnin, director of sales and marketing for Killington and Pico. “Our new team members have roots in Vermont, they’ve grown up here and gone to school here. We’re excited they are now part of our team, which is focused on delivering cool experiences across our amazing resort.”
Yannick Gomes graduated from Green Mountain College’s Resort & Hospitality Management program in 2013, and has recently been promoted from Supervisor at the Killington Grand Hotel to Leisure Sales Representative. Originally from Marblehead, MA, Gomes currently resides in Killington spending winters snowboarding.
“Over the past six years I’ve learned a good team is necessary for success. Working at the hotel has given me an intimate knowledge of what our guests need and want. I am excited to bring this knowledge to the sales team to help increase the quality of our guests’ vacations,” says Gomes.
Kristel Fillmore graduated from Castleton University’s Business Administration program in 2006, and has been recently added to the Killington team as the Communications, Public Relations and Social Media Manager after teaching snowboarding at Pico Mountain last season. Fillmore learned to ski and ride at Pico and Killington and continues to enjoy winters riding and summers paddle boarding and hiking.
“I’ve wanted to join the marketing team at Killington since I graduated from Castleton. I am beyond excited to be here and will use my ten years of experience in marketing and communications in the outdoor entertainment industry to promote Killington, Pico and the Vermont ski industry through as many media channels as possible.” says Fillmore.
Mary Blanchard joins the Human Resources team as the Compensation Administrator, a new full-time, year-round role at Killington Resort to accommodate the growing staff as business levels increase during all four seasons. Blanchard comes to Killington with eight years of experience in human resources. Blanchard is from Whiting, VT where she enjoys airshows, horses and hiking with her two dogs, Lacey and Trevor.
“Mary is big on efficiency, training and equality. We are excited to have her experience and fresh perspective at Killington,” says Judy Geiger, director of human resources for Killington and Pico.
Kirsten Ericksen graduated from the University of Vermont with a BS in Civil Engineering and has been recently hired as the Permits and Planning Civil Engineer at Killington Resort. Ericksen began running her family business, Alpine Engineering in 2008 after working many years with her father. Ericksen grew up in Ludlow, VT and enjoys spending time with her family in her spare time.
“Building up Alpine Engineering gave me a number of skills, from organizing and bookkeeping to surveying and lift engineering. I am excited to bring these skills to Killington Resort. I have gained experience and knowledge over the past 30 years in many areas, all which will be useful to me at Killington,” says Ericksen.
