Vermont Small Business Development Center (VtSBDC) State Director Linda Rossi was recently elected to America’s Small Business Development Center Board (SBDC) of Directors. The decision, made by receiving votes from her peers throughout the US at the national conference in Nashville this Fall, means Rossi will serve a two-year term beginning immediately. “This is an excellent opportunity to represent not only Vermont and the New England region, but it also allows a voice for the small, rural states on a national stage,” Rossi said. Of the nine board members, Rossi is the only representative from New England and the only board member representing a small, rural state.
America’s SBDC board members are charged with establishing the association’s mission, vision and strategic direction. Board members also approve the association’s budget and operations plans, appoint and evaluate the performance of the association’s president.
America’s SBDC represents America’s nationwide network of Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) – the most comprehensive small business assistance network in the United States and its territories. America’s SBDC is focused on helping new entrepreneurs realize the dream of business ownership, and to assist existing businesses to remain competitive in the complex marketplace of an ever-changing global economy. Hosted by leading universities, colleges and state economic development agencies, and funded in part by the United States Congress through a partnership with the US Small Business Administration, nearly 1,000 service centers are available nationwide.
