BMH President elected delegate to AHA Regional Policy Board

Steven R Gordon, President and CEO of Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH), has been appointed as a state delegate and member of the American Hospital Association (AHA) Regional Policy Board. According to its mission statement, “The AHA leads, represents, and serves hospitals, health systems, and other related organizations that are accountable to the community and committed to health improvement.” By gathering and analyzing information about changes and challenges in delivering quality health care throughout different regions of the country, the AHA works to impact federal legislation to improve the ability of local hospitals to best serve their communities.

On January 1, 2018, Gordon will begin his two year term as a delegate to Regional Policy Board 1, which represents the New England region. Delegates to the AHA Regional Policy Boards meet to discuss local hospital policy issues and alternatives; their recommendations and analyses are then used by the AHA Board in its policy deliberations.

Gordon has served as President and CEO of BMH since 2011. A lifelong Rotarian, Gordon has always been actively involved in his local community, serving on such boards as the YMCA, the Chamber of Commerce, Boys and Girls Club, and Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation (BDCC).
