Civil engineer joins Stantec

Civil engineer Mary Ellen Parkman has joined the South Burlington office of engineering firm Stantec. Parkman comes to South Burlington after eight years in the company's North Springfield, Vermont, office working on water and wastewater engineering projects for cities and towns throughout the Northeast. Parkman, an associate at Stantec, will now lead the environmental team in both Vermont offices.
Parkman and her team are currently involved in an effort to design a wastewater system for the summit of Mt. Washington, which will allow the scientists and researchers working there to flush toilets and use running water in the midst of the mountain's record cold and winds. Parkman holds a master's degree in environmental engineering from the University of New Haven in Connecticut and a civil engineering degree from Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York. She is a registered engineer in Vermont, New York, and New Hampshire.
Stantec's Vermont offices employ approximately 85 people who provide environmental engineering, transportation design, building engineering, and landscape architecture and planning services.
