MEMIC promotes Funk to president, Northeast region

Workers' compensation specialist The MEMIC Group has announced the promotion of Jeff Funk to President, Northeast Region.

With 32 years of property casualty insurance experience in both the insurance company and independent agency business, Funk joined The MEMIC Group as an Executive Underwriter in 2006 with the responsibility of growing and developing the Connecticut and upstate New York territories. He was promoted to the position of Assistant Vice President in 2012 and Vice President in 2014 and works out of The MEMIC Group’s New Hampshire office leading the continued development of business for the Northeast Region, including New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont and New Hampshire.

Funk’s insurance career includes expertise in commercial underwriting, having held positions in underwriting and general management for two national insurance carriers. He has also worked in the sales management and marketing areas of the independent agency business. Funk holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland and obtained his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 1987.
