Nuclear Regulatory Commission to Take Public Comment on Proposed Sale of Vermont Yankee.
The Public Service Department today announced the next meeting of the Nuclear Decommissioning Citizens Advisory Panel (NDCAP) will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the multipurpose room at Brattleboro Area Middle School at 109 Sunny Acres in Brattleboro, VT.
Representatives from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission will be in attendance to take public comment on the proposed sale of Vermont Yankee, specifically the license transfer application filed by Entergy and NorthStar and NorthStar’s revised Post Shutdown Decommissioning Activities Report (PSDAR). The meeting will take place during the NRC public comment period and all comments made will be entered into the public record. The public is encouraged to attend.
The Panel will also receive a briefing on the license transfer application and revised PSDAR from representatives from Entergy and NorthStar.
NorthStar’s revised PSDAR is available through the NDCAP webpage at http://publicservice.vermont.gov/sites/dps/files/documents/NDCAP/NorthStar%20VY%20PSDAR%20April%202017.pdf. This PSDAR heavily references Entergy’s December 2014 version of the PSDAR, which is also available through the NDCAP webpage at http://publicservice.vermont.gov/sites/dps/files/documents/NDCAP/Entergy%20VY%20December%202014%20PSDAR%20BVY%2014-078%20ML14357A110.pdf.
