Leahy names new liaison to Vermont business community

Senator Patrick Leahy has named Chris Saunders as his new Field Representative in Vermont on Business, and Community and Economic Development.
Before returning to Vermont, Saunders worked for Leahy in Washington as Projects Director for domestic appropriations, and Legislative Aide for Housing, Health Care, Education and Human Services. Saunders worked on annual appropriations and budget bills, including the Farm Bill and multiple other laws and initiatives. Most recently, Saunders worked out of Leahy’s Montpelier office as Field Representative for Education and Human Services.
Saunders is a native of Middlebury and currently lives in Burlington. He is a graduate of Middlebury Union High School and Bowdoin College. Saunders replaces Ted Brady, who was appointed by the Obama Administration as Executive Director of USDA Rural Development for Vermont and New Hampshire.
