Rutland Area Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice announces new members to board of directors

Rutland Area Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice (RAVNAH), a
Medicare-certified, non-profit home care agency that provides the highest
quality home health and nursing care, hospice, private duty, and community
health services to people throughout Rutland County, Dorset, and Rupert
Vermont areas, announced today that two new members have been selected to
serve on the organization’s Board of Directors. The new members include a
seasoned member who previously spent 19 years serving on RAVNAH’s board, and
a GE employee serving RAVNAH for the first time. The new board members were
installed as of May, 2014. Their terms will last through April, 2017.

The new board members are: Win Thomas and Dan DiBatista.

Win Thomas, one of the principals at The Richards Group, is a respected
benefits advisor and broker. He previously served on RAVNAH’s board of
directors from 1993 to 2012. A Colorado State University graduate, Win
enjoys outdoor activities such as skiing and running, and is a four-time
qualifier and finisher of the World Ironman Triathlon held in Kona, Hawaii.

Dan DiBatista comes to RAVNAH after having served such organizations such as
Boys & Girls Club and YMCA in Massachusetts. Employed by General Electric
for 30 years, Dan serves as Plant Leader at the Rutland facility. In 2012,
he was named Rutland Economic Development Corporation’s Member of the Year,
and in 2010 was named Rutland Region Chamber of Commerce’s Business Person
of the Year.

In addition to Thomas and DiBatista, five other board members have committed
to serving on RAVNAH’s board through April, 2017. Mark Lawrence, Dr. Eric
Marsh, Jeanne Raiche, Dr. Rick Lovett and Carrie Allen have all renewed
their term, which expired in April of this year.

Board Members exiting the board are: Bruce Carp, Mark Patten, and Michelle
Fairbrother.

RAVNAH Executive Director Ron Cioffi thanked Bruce, Mark and Michelle for
their service on the board and welcomed the new members. “Serving on the
board of a thriving non-profit like RAVNAH requires dedication, time, and a
commitment to improving our communities. We are incredibly grateful for the
service of Bruce, Mark and Michelle for providing their time and talents to
strengthening our organization and providing a positive impact on the lives
with which we are entrusted. Thank you for your service.”

Cioffi continued, “It is always exciting to welcome new members to the
board, who bring with them a fresh perspective and a different personal
approach. I know that their service will provide tremendous benefits to the
board and organization as a whole.”

RAVNAH Board President Dr. Rick Lovett added, “As our board continues to
evolve, we have been able to move forward and progress because of the
talents of our membership. I am personally grateful to have served with
those members whose terms have ended and to welcome our newest members on
board. RAVNAH is a great organization that serves the home health needs of
area residents, regardless of their location or how complex their health
care issues are, and we are fortunate for the leadership we have serving on
our patients’ behalves.”
