The Vermont Futures Project has selected Chad T Ahern to join the organization in January to further its educational, outreach, and research efforts. Ahern comes with a wealth of experience in program development, organizational outreach, and fundraising from his work in higher education. Most recently, Ahern spent the last seven years redefining Saint Michael’s College’s donor relations program, coordinating efforts to thank and recognize donors and volunteers for their unique contributions.
The Vermont Futures Project is a data-driven initiative to secure Vermont’s economic future and Ahern will work to expand the data on the Economic Dashboard and create recommendations to effect change to meet the six growth targets set by the Vermont Futures Project. The next data update will occur at the Vermont Economic Conference on January 5, 2018.
Ahern remarked upon accepting this new role, “I’m excited to join the Vermont Futures Project efforts to develop a plan and make progress toward providing opportunity for current and future generations. I look forward to helping develop policies that assist organizations in attracting, developing, and retaining a robust workforce, drive innovation and economic activity, while also respecting Vermont’s commitment to the environment and sustainable communities.”

Ahern seeks to provide others with opportunities to develop into their best selves. His professional experience in higher-education includes work at colleges in Pennsylvania, New York and most recently Vermont. Ahern is also a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach, a designation he earned to better assist individuals and organizations utilize their innate abilities to succeed at work and in life. Ahern holds a BA in History and MS in Administration from Saint Michael’s College. He resides in Colchester, VT with his wife and two sons.
