Mack team grows with business, expands personnel to meet current & future needs

With several major projects ramping up within its facilities Mack Molding is shoring up its future success by acquiring top talent. In recent months Mack has hired several engineers in tooling, manufacturing and quality positions, as well as new customer-focused roles across the organization. Also included in the recent batch of new hires are two former interns, bringing the total number of students who have returned to full-time positions at the company in the last two years to 15.

At all levels of the organization we are recruiting the skilled technicians and professionals necessary to sustain our growth, as well as providing our current team members with training to advance our in-house talent.”

Mack welcomed Jim Ostrowski as a tool engineer with responsibility for facilitating design review and feedback for manufacturability, working with our suppliers to specify and manage tool construction and overseeing samplings through part acceptance. Jim brings more than 20 years of design and tooling experience to Mack. He most recently served as a product development engineer and senior process engineer at Plasan Carbon Composites R&D in Michigan. Prior to Plasan he worked in Bennington, Vt, for Vermont Composites as a project engineer and NSK as a design engineer. Jim has an associate degree in mechanical engineering from Berkshire Community College and a BS in operations and project management from Southern New Hampshire University.

Mack has welcomed Cory Crawford as a program manager. Corey, has more than 10 years of program management experience with a focus on supporting full life-cycle product development in the medical device and manufacturing industries. A US Army infantry veteran, previous to Mack he most recently served as an engineering program manager at BioFire Defense in Salt Lake City, Utah. In addition to a bachelor of science degree in computer engineering, he is certified in ESI project planning, analysis and control, and also is a Six Sigma green belt.

Jennifer Beushausen has joined Mack as an account manager, covering accounts for Mack’s Southern Division. Jennifer most recently worked for Rieter America and has more than 20 years of experience in account management with a keen focus on the customer and quality. In addition to being a certified Six Sigma Black Belt, she is a Certified Professional in Supply Chain Management from the Institute for Supply Management and has a Duke University Leadership certification. Jennifer has a bachelor of arts degree in business administration from Columbia International University in Columbia, SC.

Samuel Engle has joined Mack’s engineering arm, Synectic Medical Product Development, as its mid-Atlantic sales representative covering New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Northern Virginia. Sam has a bachelor of arts degree in marketing from Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ, and most recently served as a strategic programs and service consultant focused on new project implementation at Vygon Medical Corporation. He brings more than 10 years of medical product experience, having also worked for Medical Components, Inc; Martech Medical Components, Inc; and Ivera Medical.

Jason Hartnett has been appointed manufacturing manager, bringing more than 15 years of experience to Mack. Jason is supporting all non-electromechanical assembly, including coordinating the orthopedic single use and reusable instruments, as well as case and trays. Prior to Mack, he worked at Metal Crafters Inc. in Ronkonkoma, N.Y., as the quality assurance & regulatory affairs manager. Additionally, Jason worked with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Union Authorization Representation to register and list a Class 3 medical device. He also gained experience at Cemusa Inc. in New York, NY, as a quality assurance/manufacturing & engineering inspector.

Steve Parker has accepted the position of product quality manager in Mack’s Southern Division, bringing significant experience in quality assurance and engineering. Steve also comes to Mack with deep familiarity with the organization and its processes, having previously served as a product engineering and quality assurance manager from 1992-2011. Most recently he served as quality engineering manager at Core Molding Technologies. Steve has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Limestone College in Gaffney, SC.

Cashelle Lukas has been appointed health services manager. Cashelle will leverage her more than 30 years of medical and case management experience to manage Mack’s workers compensation and short-term disability programs, as well as provide a range of nursing services. A master of science in nursing: health care systems management, registered nurse and certified case manager, she also has associate of applied science degrees in medical assisting and nursing, as well as a BS in nursing. Cashelle is president of the New York Capital Region Case Management Society of America and prior to Mack served as a dedicated unit nurse advisor to the New York City Metropolitan Transportation Authority for Aetna Insurance.

Jason Fishner has joined Mack as a manufacturing engineer. Jason, who has a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Union College in Schenectady, NY, was the senior mechanical engineer at Engineered Printing Solutions in East Dorset, Vt., prior to Mack, where he was responsible for project management and mechanical design work on large scale industrial digital and pad printing machinery. He gained additional experience at ZYGO/AMTEK Corporation in Middlefield, Conn., and was an opto-mechanical design engineer on the Laser Interferometer Gravitational – Wave Observatory project at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Mass.

Former intern Jamison Gates has returned to Mack as a quality engineer. Jamison is no stranger, having served as a metals and quality engineering intern from May 2014 to January 2016. Before returning to Mack, he was an intern at Engineered Printing Solutions in East Dorset, Vt. While at the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vt., Jamison earned a degree in mechanical engineering management and participated in the AERO Hybrid Electric Race Car Project, in which he held a leadership role in the development of an alternative energy race car for intercollegiate competition.

Brian Kolb has joined Mack as a quality engineer, with responsibility for compliance with our customers’ quality requirements. Brian brings more than 10 years of quality and engineering experience to Mack. Prior to Mack, he most recently served as a manufacturing leader at Averill Park, NY-based life sciences company Forward Biotech. Brian, who has a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo, also gained valuable experience as a quality assurance manager for Rus Industries, a custom machining and precision manufacturing shop located in Niagara Falls, NY.

Mack has welcomed Anne Ryan as a quality engineer. Anne, who has a bachelor of engineering degree in biomedical engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ, will capture quality data for customer review and ongoing improvement of the manufacturing process. She most recently served as senior process engineer for semiconductor-maker GlobalFoundries, in Malta, NY, where she also gained engineering and quality experience as a process engineer and shift process engineer. Prior to GlobalFoundries, she honed her skills in co-ops for medical device equipment manufacturer Mindray and pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline.

Mack welcomed former intern Rebecca Bushee back as a manufacturing administrator working on behalf of the Company’s medical business. A graduate of Castleton University, Rebecca has a bachelor of science degree in business administration. She previously served in Mack’s finance department between June 2014 and July 2017, gaining valuable insight and experience with Mack’s processes – in particular with enterprise resource planning systems. Prior to Mack, Rebecca volunteered as a tax preparer at the BROC Community Center in Rutland, Vt, assisting lower-income community members.
