College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences solidifies VT leadership team

The Colchester campus of Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences has announced the hiring of its chief administrative officer, two department chairs and five additional faculty members. ACPHS-Vermont will offer a four year Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program; the PharmD. is the degree required to practice pharmacy in the US. The pharmacy program at ACPHS-Vermont will be the only such program in the state. Robert Hamilton, PharmD, will serve as the Vermont campus’ chief administrative officer with Ron DeBellis, PharmD, chairing the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Stefan Balaz, PhD, chairing the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The following faculty members have also been hired for ACPHS-Vermont: Yogendra Bhatnagar, PhD, professor, pharmaceutical sciences, Brian Cowles, PharmD, assistant professor, pharmacy practice, Salvatore Morana, PhD, assistant professor, pharmacy practice, Douglas Poulter, RPh, coordinator of experiential education and instructor, pharmacy practice, Joanna Schwartz, PharmD, assistant professor, pharmacy practice. The main campus building will be located in Colchester’s Water Tower Hill development.
