Cohn Public Relations (Brattleboro) adds expertise to PRCG network

The PR Consultants Group (PRCG) is proud to announce the addition of a new member, Martin Cohn, president of Cohn Public Relations. “This new addition will add value, expertise and experience to PRCG, a national network of seasoned public relations professionals,” said PRCG President/Founder Nicole Candler. The PRConsultantsGroup, founded in 2000, is made up of senior-level public relations and marketing consultants representing top markets in the United States and Canada. Their unique collaborative model allows PRCG members to work together and separately on projects, offering ‘on the ground’ experience in their local markets to clients’ regional and national public relations initiatives.

Cohn has more than 40 years of experience in all facets of marketing communications. With an extensive background in public, media, and community relations, Martin has developed successful public relations and marketing communications programs for a wide range of established organizations. Recently Martin served as company spokesman for Vermont Yankee, a 42-year old nuclear power plant in Vernon, Vermont that shut down in December of 2014 as the first unregulated, merchant facility to be decommissioned. He created and implemented the VY decommissioning communications plan.

Along his career, Cohn has concentrated in the promotion of philanthropy, developed a substantial background in politics, and has a variety of experience working with various associations and trade groups. With an undergraduate degree in psychology from Boston University’s College of Liberal Arts and a Master’s Degree in Public Relations from BU’s College of Communication, for six years, Martin was an adjunct professor at Emerson College in Boston teaching a graduate course on special events management and taught a seminar on media relations for non profits for Boston’s Technical Development Corporation for six years.

Cohn lives in Newfane, VT with his wife, Yael. He is past president of Brattleboro Rotary Club, past president of Brattleboro Area Jewish Community, a board member of Brattleboro Community Television, and a former board member of Arts Council of Windham County in Vermont.
