Joe Doud named Vermont Lake Monsters general manager

The Vermont Lake Monsters have announced that Joe Doud has been promoted to General Manager, becoming the sixth GM in the New York-Penn League team's 22-year history. Doud, who has served as the team’s Assistant General Manager for the past four seasons, will focus on the organization’s day-to-day operations.

Nate Cloutier, who has been the team’s General Manager for the past five seasons and been an integral part of the organization since 2002 will now shift his focus on the continued growth of the business and the brand, as the Executive Director of Sales and Marketing.

“I am very excited for Joe and the Vermont Lake Monsters.”, said Lake Monsters Vice President Kyle Bostwick. “This is a great opportunity for Joe and Nate to focus on their strengths as we continue to provide the best in summertime entertainment”.

Over the past couple of seasons, the Lake Monsters have seen steady growth, due in part to privately-funded facility improvements to the tune of over $2-million, a successful team rebranding, and a strong organizational nucleus that will remain intact throughout these organizational changes.

Doud will work closely with Bostwick, along with the rest of the organization to continue the growth of the organization with a goal to provide affordable, family entertainment in the Vermont area.

Doud, a Colchester High School graduate and 2009 graduate of Colby-Sawyer College is entering his sixth season with the Lake Monsters, climbing his way through the organization since his beginnings as a summer intern in 2008. After completing a season as a Group Sales Representative, Doud was promoted to the Assistant General Manager in September of 2010.

Doud has been active in the community during his time with the Lake Monsters. He currently sits on the board of directors for Everybody Wins! Vermont, a reading mentorship program and is also the Chair of Membership & Development for the Burlington Young Professionals. In 2013, Doud was named a ‘Rising Star’ of 40 professionals under age 40 in the state of Vermont by Vermont Business Magazine.

“The leadership structure from Kyle and Nate has allowed the organization to take the next step. I am very excited for this opportunity and am looking forward to sharing our continued successes with the great people I work with in the office as well as our fans in the community” Doud says.

The Lake Monsters open the 2015 season on Friday June 19th.
