New England Federal Credit Union announces Board Of Directors elections

New England Federal Credit Union (NEFCU) has announced the election of three members to its Board of Directors. The elections took place during NEFCU’s Annual Meeting on Wednesday, March 27th.
Charles DesLauriers, returning board member, is an independent real estate developer and investor doing business as DesLauriers & Company. He has been a key figure in the development of many notable properties such as Portland Harbor Hotel, the Green Mountain Suites Hotel and the Courtyard Burlington Harbor Hotel. He has also held management and executive positions with the Sheraton Corporation, Inter-Continental Hotels, and Omni Hotels. Mr. DesLauriers has served on the NEFCU Board since 2002 and currently serves on the Volunteer Development Committee and as Chairman of the Board.
New board member Robert Letovsky, Ph.D. is a member of the faculty at Saint Michael’s College, where he chairs the Department of Business Administration and Accounting. Dr. Letovsky served on the Chittenden East Supervisory Union school board for over 10 years, is a longtime business educator, and a frequent panelist and writer on economic and policy issues impacting Vermont. Prior to beginning his academic career, Dr. Letovsky spent ten years in the business world, involved in commercial banking and export finance.
Ruth Uphold, M.D., also a new board member, started her career in the medical field of Emergency Medicine at Valley Medical Center in Fresno, California. After completing her residency she moved to Vermont where she was the Medical Director at Fletcher Allen Health Care (FAHC) Emergency Department from1981-2006. Before retiring in 2009, Dr. Uphold served as the Emergency Department Attending at FAHC. Currently Dr. Uphold serves on the FAHC Board of Trustees, Fletcher Allen Foundation Board of Trustees, and the United Way of Chittenden County Board of Trustees.
