Vermont Tech is ranked among the top regional colleges in the North by US News & World Report
Vermont Technical College was named among the top 35 best regional colleges in the North by US News & World Report as part of their annual Best Colleges rankings, released to the public today. The only college in the state specializing in technical education, Vermont Tech ranks 33rd of the 370 colleges on the list.
According to the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, regional schools focus almost entirely on the undergraduate experience and offer a broad range of programs in the liberal arts and in fields such as business, nursing and education. Vermont Tech is just one of two Vermont colleges to be ranked in the top tier (top 46) of the best regional colleges in the North. The Regional Colleges ranking methodology is based on a number of key measures including peer assessment, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources and alumni giving.
“The US News & World Report college rankings are a powerful and respected resource for prospective students and their families to make informed decisions in the college search,” said Vermont Tech President Dr. Philip Conroy. “We are pleased to join other top colleges in the rankings once again, and hope this supports our continuing effort to build upon Vermont Tech’s talented student population.”
