AIV annual meeting with former Governor Jim Douglas, Governor Peter Shumlin, and Senator Randy Brock

Associated Industries of Vermont will hold its 92nd Annual Meeting on Thursday, October 4, at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Montpelier.  AIV's annual meeting is the state's leading forum for bringing together state and industry leaders on issues critical to manufacturers and other key Vermont businesses.

The course and pace of economic recovery and the future of federal and state fiscal policies that could significantly impact our business climate remain open questions for Vermont.  In this election year, we will be focusing our annual meeting on the theme of "Government's Role in Economic Recovery and Growth:  Opportunities for Support; Risks for Burden".

To help provide perspective on the challenges facing state leaders, former Governor Jim Douglas will be our keynote speaker, sharing his insights and reflections from his long career in state leadership.

Governor Douglas is due to publish his autobiography covering his nearly 40 years in Vermont politics later this year.

The two leading candidates for governor, Governor Peter Shumlin and Senator Randy Brock, will also each lay out for us their priorities and key principles and proposals to help strengthen the state's economic foundations and prospects, and take questions from attendees.

Both members and non-members are welcome to register by faxing or mailing the registration form by October 1.

Registration form and agenda are available on the homepage of the AIV website, www.aivt.org.
