VTrans to close US Route 2 at Carry Bay in North Hero on Oct 27 for 32 hours to replace damaged culvert

Fri Oct 12 2012

The Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) will be closing US Route 2 in North Hero (Carry Bay) for approximately 30 hours to install a large replacement culvert equalizer pipe. The road will be closed at mile marker 4.50 (Carry Bay) at 12:01 AM Saturday October 27, 2012 and is scheduled to reopen by 6AM on Sunday, October 28. The night time construction is set to minimize the impact on the traveling public.

One week before the closing, crews will start a dewatering process that will require daily lane closures. One lane will be maintained to allow traffic flow during the week. Motorists should expect short periods when traffic will be stopped in both directions to facilitate the movement of machinery and personnel. For approximately one week after the culvert installation, motorists can expect occasional lane closures for paving and guardrail installation.
