VSECU to break ground at new site for Rutland branch

VSECU will celebrate ground breaking that has begun at the new site for its Rutland Branch Office at 10:00 a.m. on June 21 at 100 Seward Road, Rutland Town. 

The current branch office has served the Rutland area since 2002 from its leased location in the Asa Bloomer Building in downtown Rutland. The move to the purchased site near Diamond Run Mall will allow VSECU the flexibility to expand its services to more Vermonters living and working in the Rutland region. One of the biggest benefits to members will be better access to VSECU with plenty of parking for branch transactions and convenient access to a fully accessible 24/7 ATM and drive-thru teller lanes. 

“We couldn’t be happier or more excited about building the new branch here,” said VSECU member Mike Lewis. “The added convenience of the drive-through teller and ATM will be a huge benefit for me and my fellow members.” 

VSECU has included in the branch plan a 13.5 x 24.5-foot Community Room that will be offered for use to the Rutland community. Community organizations may use the room for meetings and small gatherings. 

From the inception of the new Rutland Branch Office, VSECU’s Board of Directors and management planned this facility with environmental sustainability and energy conservation in mind. Designed by Gossens Bachman Architects of Montpelier, the 4,300-square-foot office will be constructed with green energy-efficient building materials to meet standards required by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), a third-party green certification system. LEED standards will also direct the environmentally responsible operation and maintenance of the building. 

VSECU has contracted Russell Construction Services of Rutland to oversee construction during the coming summer and fall months. The target for project completion is December 2011.
