Vermont Grocers’ awards $21,500 in scholarships

Vermont Grocers’ Association is pleased to announce its scholarship winners chosen for the 2012-2013 academic year. Thirteen high school graduates were selected to receive grants to be applied to their college education expenses. 

VGA’s Scholarship Program was established to provide financial assistance to 1st year students to further their education after high school. Funds are raised through a June golf tournament and several events at the organization’s fall conference. 

This is the 23nd year the association has presented awards to students who are employed or are a dependent of an employee at a member store/company. 

The Vermont Grocers’ Association is a non-profit trade association of approximately 670 Vermont food stores and over 225 suppliers to the industry. The organization provides members with a variety of educational, group programs and industry advocacy. It is headquartered in Montpelier, Vermont.
