Fletcher Allen named a 'Most Wired Hospital' in national survey
Fletcher Allen Health Care has been recognized as one of the nation’s best hospitals at using information technology to improve efficiency and quality of care according to results of the 2012 Most Wired Survey conducted by the American Hospital Association and its partners.
The analysis paid particular attention to the use of technology to protect patient data, check for drug interactions and allergies, and develop performance improvement systems.
“Quick and reliable access to information can sometimes be the difference between a positive and negative medical outcome,” said Chuck Podesta, chief information officer at Fletcher Allen. “That’s why we’ve made major investments in leading-edge health information technology. These systems are not only helping us improve the quality and efficiency of the care we provide, but they are also key elements in the progress we’re making in building the integrated delivery system the current reform environment demands.”
The 2012 Most Wired Survey is conducted by the American Hospital Association in cooperation with McKesson Corporation and the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME).
