Vermont Business Magazine Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies (VCET) and Hotel Vermont are proud to announce the Female Founder Speakers Series. The six month series will present one event per month, from January to June, 2017. Each event will feature two exceptional speakers from a unique industry, as well as appetizers, cash bar, and unparalleled networking opportunities.
Celebrating female entrepreneurs from around the state, the series aims to share what it takes to start a company from the ground up. Each speaker will share the story of their business, including what it took to get started, lessons learned, and where they hope to go in the future. There will also be plenty of time for Q&A.
The first event of the Female Founders Speaker Series, “Wellness Working”, kicks off Monday, January 23rd from 5:30-7pm featuring Sarah DeGray of Rev Indoor Cycling, and Jovial King of Urban Moonshine.
Female Founders co-host, Hans Van Wees of Hotel Vermont explains, "This series aims to celebrate entrepreneurship in Vermont by sharing lessons learned from some of Vermont's most successful business leaders. This is just the tip of the iceberg. There is so much we can learn from each other and Hotel Vermont is thrilled to co-host the series with VCET.”
The cost of the event is $15 per person, per event, and 100% of proceeds benefit a local charity or nonprofit. All are welcome, but tickets are limited so interested parties are encouraged to act fast. January’s event, which highlights Vermont’s thriving wellness industry, will benefit Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that empowers all athletes with disabilities year-round throughout the State of Vermont.
“I’m thrilled to be part of this important Vermont series,” says Jovial King, one of the series’ first speakers. “It is crucial that we make space to hear women’s stories of entrepreneurship. By sharing our stories we can empower each other to take the leap and start businesses and encourage each other to keep fighting for our dreams when the going gets tough. Together we are an unstoppable force for positive change in the world.”
Co-sponsored by VCET and Hotel Vermont, the Female Founder Speakers Series: Wellness Working will be held in beautiful Juniper Hall at the Hotel Vermont, 41 Cherry Street in downtown Burlington, VT. All are welcome.
