EF Wall wins Green Best Builder Award
EF Wall Associates recently won the award for Outstanding Quality of Work and Effort, in the New Construction Category, given by the Associated General Contractors of Vermont (AGC/VT), at its Annual Best Builders Award Ceremony held on December 4 at the Hilton Hotel in South Burlington.
EF Wall Associates won for their work on the Fire/Crash/Rescue Station project at the VT Air National Guard (VTANG) Base at the Burlington International. The 10,384 square foot expansion was necessary to improve service and accommodate additional staffing and equipment levels.
The project received a LEED Gold certification and will contribute to VTRANG’s commitment to meeting federal legislative energy reduction mandates of 30 percent by 2015, and the Department of Defense renewable energy goal of 25 percent by 2015.
Construction waste materials and demolition debris were closely monitored and a total of 98 percent of waste was recycled and diverted from the landfill. Materials incorporated into the facility included 28 percent regional materials and 20 percent recycled materials.
