BMH to Host Two Tech Tours for Fall 2010

In the past couple of years, BMH has sponsored Technology Tours to offer the community a chance to come learn about some of the hospital’s state-of-the-art instruments. To date we have featured tours of Radiology, Digital Mammography, Cardiology, the OR suite, and the Oncology Departments, to name a few.

On Tuesday, September 28th, at 5:15 p.m., BMH has scheduled a Tech Tour to visit the hospital operating rooms, post-anesthesia care unit, procedure and treatment rooms, and the Ambulatory Care Unit for same-day surgery. This is the second time BMH is offering a tour of the OR area, as participants in recent Tech Tours have lamented that they were sorry to have missed earlier tours. Deb Berdan, Director of the BMH Perioperative Unit will personally lead the tour. Refreshments will be served. Interested participants should meet in the lobby of the main hospital for this tour.

A second Tech Tour for this fall is scheduled in the Women’s Imaging Unit on Tuesday, October 26th, again at 5:15 p.m. Timed to coincide with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, this is an opportunity to come see the technology involved in digital mammography, ultrasound, and bone density testing. In addition, a short talk will be given by the BMH Comprehensive Breast Care Program Navigator, Kelly McCue, RN, OCN, CHPN, MCertOnc., which she’ll present in the Women’s Resource Center.

Refreshments will be served. Meet in the Richards Building ground floor lobby for this tour which will last for approximately an hour..
