Autism and the Transition to Adulthood

BRATTLEBORO, VERMONT

The Brattleboro Retreat will present “”Autism and the Transition to Adulthood” on Friday September 21st as part of its continuing education conference series offered this fall.

Dr. Carol M. Schall, executive director of the Virginia Autism Resource Center and Assistant Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, will describe essential, person-centered program components, curriculum adjustments, and transition outcomes that are necessary to support this population in middle school, high school, higher education, and adult service agencies.

Dr. Schall is co-editor and author of the 2009 book Autism and the Transition to Adulthood: Success Beyond the Classroom from Paul H. Brookes Publishing. She also provides consultation to individuals, families, schools and community service providers for the development of behavioral programs, communication elicitation techniques, support services and educational and vocational programs.

The conference will begin at 8:30 AM and ends at 4:00 PM. The cost is $140 and includes continental breakfast and lunch. Advance registration is required.
