10th Annual VT APTA Golf Tournament to Benefit Vermont Adaptive Slated for Oct. 2 at The Links at Lang Farm in Essex

10/02/2009 - 11:00am

KILLINGTON, WARREN, BOLTON, Vt. (Sept. 23, 2009) -- The Vermont Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association (VT-APTA) will hold its annual golf tournament on Friday, Oct. 2 to benefit Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports. The 10th Annual VT APTA Golf Tournament is just one of the many fundraisers Vermont Adaptive relies on each year in order to provide daily, year-round programming to people with disabilities. Since its inception, the golf tournament has raised more than $60,000 for Vermont Adaptive and VT-APTA.

As the only organization in the state to provide this level of programming, Vermont Adaptive fundraises in order to provide financial support for both programming, including skiing, sailing, hiking, cycling, paddling, and horseback riding, and its clients.

"Teaming up with the VT-APTA is a natural fit," said Erin Fernandez, executive director of Vermont Adaptive. "As physical therapists, their goal is to help optimize human health, function and recreational performance. And we believe in sports for every body. We're looking forward to another great tournament this year!"

The tournament will be held at The Links at Lang Farm in Essex in the afternoon. Registration is from 11 a.m. - noon, with introductions at 11:45 p.m. and the four-person team, scramble format tournament begins at noon. An awards ceremony and barbeque follow at the conclusion of play.

An entry fee of $400 is for a team of four and includes 18 holes of golf with cart, unlimited use of the practice facility one hour prior to the start of the tournament, a tee-gift, prizes, and the barbecue. Hole sponsorship also is available ranging from $100 to $650 donations.
