October BMH Tech Tour To Feature Women’s Imaging Unit

10/26/2010 - 5:15pm

In the past couple of years, BMH has sponsored Technology Tours to give the community a chance to come learn about some of the hospital’s state-of-the-art instruments. To date we have featured tours of Radiology, Cardiology, and the Oncology Department, to name a few. The most recent tour in late September featured the hospital operating suites, including the Ambulatory Care Unit (for same-day surgery), the post-anesthesia department, and the treatment and procedure rooms.

On Tuesday, October 26th, timed to coincide with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, people coming for another of the BMH Technology Tours will have the opportunity to see the instruments involved in digital mammography, ultrasound, and bone density testing. In addition, a short talk will be given by the BMH Comprehensive Breast Care Program Navigator, Kelly McCue, RN, OCN, CHPN, MCertOnc.. Kelly will present this in the Women’s Resource Center, next to the Women’s Imaging Unit being toured on the upper level of the Richards Building.

This 2nd Fall Tech Tour at BMH will start at 5:15 p.m. Meet in the Richards Building ground floor lobby. Following the tour, refreshments will be served. In order to give us a rough count of people for the October Tech Tour, please call 802-257-8833 if you plan to attend, although walk-ins will also be welcome on the tours.
