90th AIV Annual Meeting, 'Charting Vermont's Economic Future'
90th AIV Annual Meeting
Charting Vermont's Economic Future
Wednesday, October 20 w Capitol Plaza Hotel, Montpelier
AIV will convene its 90th Annual Meeting on Wednesday, October 20, at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Montpelier. AIV's
annual meeting is the state's leading forum for bringing together state and industry leaders on issues critical to
manufacturers and other key Vermont businesses.
This year's annual meeting will be especially timely and important for both business leaders and state officeholders
and candidates. Vermont businesses and manufacturers in particular are grappling with the lingering effects of
recession and uncertainty about the future. At the same time, Vermont is facing a significant turnover of key
executive and legislative leaders.
AIV's annual meeting will feature a panel of key industry leaders who will discuss their own experiences and insights
into the challenges and needs of Vermont employers surviving and succeeding in Vermont in the face of competition
both in the marketplace and within larger national and international corporations.
This panel will be followed by addresses from the Democratic and Republican candidates for Governor and Lt.
Governor, providing attendees the opportunity to hear directly from those who want to lead Vermont into the
immediate future what they see as the role of manufacturing in Vermont's economy, the challenges facing Vermont
employers, and what the state should do to help them succeed.
The meeting will also feature a presentation from and opportunity to interact with the Blue Ribbon Tax Structure
Commission, which will be issuing recommendations for reform of Vermont's tax code for the next Legislature to
consider.
Both members and non-members are welcome to register by faxing or mailing a registration form by
October 18. Registration is required for admission to the presentations and luncheon address. Contact
