Governor James Douglas will dedicate the Vermont Global War on Terror Memorial at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Veterans Day, Thursday, November 11, 2010, at 11:00 a.m.  In addition to listing the names of the 40 military members with connections to Vermont who have died in the Global War on Terror, the memorial also recognizes those families who have suffered a loss and all military members and veterans who have served since September 11, 2001.
 
The memorial will be an integral feature of the veteran cemetery and will provide a solemn and permanent reminder to Vermonters of the sacrifices made by our military members and their families. 
 
The cemetery is located in Randolph Center, just off of Exit 4 of Interstate 89.  There is signage from the interstate to the cemetery (Follow Route 66 East, turning Right onto Furnace Street after Floyd’s General Store).
 
If you would like to attend, please plan on arriving by 10:30 a.m. to ensure the ceremony starts on time.
