Strong businesses need strong employees. Key to attracting and retaining good people is available, quality, affordable child care. Learn about issues surrounding child care--particularly within Chittenden County where there has traditionally been a shortage--and steps you can take to create a family-friendly environment for your employees at the Child Care is Your Business Forum. The Forum is Thursday, May 28 from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m., at the Contois Auditorium in Burlington City Hall.

Program Partners include Community and Economic Development Office, Burlington Children’s Space, Vermont Human Resources Association, Leadership Champlain, and the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The Forum includes an excerpt from the film, “Motherhood Manifesto,” followed by a discussion with Kelly Ault from Kids Are Priority One Coalition. The second half of the program will include a panel discussion of business leaders that have either addressed child care issues at their company or are working towards regional solutions. The panel discussion will be led by Ann Dillenbeck, Regional Director of Building Bright Futures of Chittenden County.

This event is free and open to all HR professionals. Registration deadline is Friday, May 22. To register contact Anne Conaway Peters at 802-654-2487 or aconaway-peters@smcvt.edu.
