Burlington Emergency Shelter's Annual Ride for the Homeless (June 2)
Burlington Emergency Shelter's Annual Ride for the Homeless is a motorcycle and bicycle benefit ride and a Kids' Bicycle Rodeo. Whatever your ride of choice, come and enjoy a scenic ride through the countryside. Motorcyclists will ride about 90 miles and start at 10:am from the Green Mountain Harley Davidson store in Essex Junction. Bicyclists will leave the Champlain Valley Exposition site at two different times: 30 mile riders at 9:30 am and 10 mile riders at 11:00 am. Kids who are too young to ride the road will be provided a supervised Bicycle Rodeo Event at the Exposition site. All riders and child participants will be given a t-shirt or a rider's pin and BBQ lunch at Green Mountain Harley Davidson. All others will be provided lunch and entertainment for a small fee after riders return. During the BBQ, Shelter staff will complete a fundraising raffle with many wonderful prizes being offered. All proceeds from this event will support the Shelter's mission to aid the City's homeless. You are encouraged to register in advance and online for a discount fee atwww.beshelter.org. Registration fees on the day of the event are: $35 for riders, $20 for motorcycle passengers and $20 for children under age 14 who wish to participate in the Kids' Bicycle Rodeo. This is an event for people of all ages. Come and join the fun.
