Vermont Woodland Association Annual Meeting

Vermont Woodlands Association announces that their Annual Meeting will be held on Friday, April 9, 2010 from 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM. This year's meeting will be at Our Lady of Angels in Randolph.  The day's events begin with coffee and registration at 8:30 AM.

There will be various presenters on the day's agenda, including Jason Gibbs, Commissioner of Forests, Parks & Recreation; Steve Sinclair, State Forester; Jonathan Wood, Secretary of Agency of Natural Resources; Eric Sorenson of Fish & Wildlife; Jim Shallow and Steve Hagenbuch of VT Audubon. We will also hear from Rep. Chris Bray, Bob Paquin, and Kim Peterson about Biomass Crop Assistance Program (BCAP) in the 2008 Farm Bill.

Vermont Woodlands will be electing their 2010 board of directors. After lunch the 2010 Tree Farmer of the Year award will be presented.

The Keynote speaker is Allen Koop, author of Stark Decency, the story of WWII German POWs who were based in a camp in Stark, NH and worked in the woods for the Brown Company of Berlin and of their interaction with the local citizens.
