MVP Health Care Brings Popular Health Care Reform Forum to Burlington

A panel of diverse experts, including Vermont Chamber of Commerce President Betsy Bishop and Commissioner Steve Kimbell of the Vermont Department of Financial Regulation, will be in attendance.

Burlington, VT, June 18, 2012─On June 28, MVP Health Care will host a forum in Burlington called “Navigating Vermont’s Path to Health Care Reform,” which will discuss the impact of new health care reform laws on Vermont’s citizens.

The free forum, which is open to the public, presents an ideal opportunity for individuals, employers and health care providers to gain insight into the ways in which health care reform will impact their lives, families, businesses, and practices.

The speakers and panel will touch on a host of complex issues, including how a publically funded “single-payer” system will impact Vermont’s health care market, and the ways in which a new Health Benefit Exchange will affect relationships between employers and their employees. MVP Health Care’s guests will also discuss the current Supreme Court deliberations on the federal Affordable Care Act (ACA) and how the Court’s ruling could impact Vermont’s health care efforts.

MVP Health Care held two similar forums on health reform in Bennington and Rutland on May 16. Approximately 200 people attended the events, demonstrating how important health care reform is to Vermont’s citizens.

Speakers at the Burlington event will include Commissioner Steve Kimbell of the Vermont Department of Financial Regulation, as well as Susan Gretkowski, Senior Government Affairs Strategist at MVP Health Care.

Vermont Chamber of Commerce President Betsy Bishop, Dr. Daniel McCauliffe, a dermatologist at the Rutland Skin Center, and MVP Health Care’s Vice President of Corporate Affairs Frank Fanshawe will participate in a panel discussion.

“Navigating Vermont’s Path to Health Care Reform” will be held at the Burlington Hotel at 60 Battery Street. The event will begin promptly at 8 am and end at 10:30 am. Complimentary breakfast will be served and fully paid parking vouchers will be available to registrants.

Vermonters looking to attend the free forum must register by June 25 at http://mvpburlington.eventbrite.com/.
