2010 American Cancer Society Daffodil Days
The Heritage Automotive Group, Inc. will be the corporate sponsor of the 2010 American Cancer Society Daffodil Days campaign in Vermont. Daffodil Days celebrates the Society’s mission of saving lives and creating a world with less cancer and more birthdays. The daffodil is the first flower of spring and the American Cancer Society’s symbol of hope.
A bouquet of 10 daffodils is available for a donation of $10, while potted daffodil bulbs ($15) and the Bear and a Bunch, a collectible Boyds bear with a bouquet ($25),are also available. The last day to reserve daffodils is March 5; daffodils will be delivered the week of March 22.
Dollars raised through Daffodil Days enable the Society to offer free programs and services that help people fight cancer and get well. Such resources in Vermont include:
· Transportation assistance to and from treatment
· Free lodging when traveling far from home for treatment at the Hope Lodge in Burlington
· A patient navigator at Fletcher Allen to help patients through their cancer journey
· A free and confidential service that helps cancer patients locate a clinical trial based on their individual situation
· A free program to teach women techniques to help restore their appearance and self-image during cancer treatments
· A program that offers free information and support to men with prostate cancer
Additionally, daffodil contributions provide the Society with much-needed dollars to help people stay well by preventing cancer or detecting it early; help people get well by being there for them during and after a cancer diagnosis; by finding cures through investment in groundbreaking research; and fight back by rallying lawmakers to pass laws to defeat cancer and rally communities worldwide to join the fight.
Daffodil Days is the perfect way to fight back with and in your community, in business, schools, places of worship, and with friends and family. Only with support can the Society continue its lifesaving work to help those touched by cancer, empower people to fight back against this disease, and save more lives.
