Edgewood Studios Film Festival

The first ever EDGEWOOD STUDIOS Film Festival will unfold on the Paramount Theatre Big Screen over three days:  Friday Feb. 19, Sat. Feb. 20 and Sunday Feb 21.  Audiences will be able to see 10 films shot entirely in Rutland and surrounding areas.  All films were  produced and/or directed by Rutland native and President/CEO of EDGEWOOD STUDIOS, David Giancola. All ten films feature performances by local actors and were largely staffed with technical support by local area work forces.  Admission will be $5 per film or $20 for a Festival Pass.  

The films will be shown on the following schedule:

Friday, Feb. 19

7:00 PM: TIME CHASERS  A non-stop sci-fi adventure. Starring Bonnie Pritchard and Peter Harrington.  Giancola’s first film.

9:00 PM:  KILLER FLOOD….THE DAY THE DAM BROKE A killer flood devastates the entire town of Rutland, Montana.  Starring Bruce Boxleitner (“Babylon 5”), Joe Lando (“Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman”) and Michelle Greene (“CSI”)

Saturday, Feb. 20

1:00 PM:  LIGHTNING….FIRE FROM THE SKY Freak killer lightning devastates Rutland, Missouri.  Starring  Golden Globe winner Stacy Keach, John Schneider (“Smallville” “Nip/Tuck”) and Jesse Eisenberg (“Adventureland” “The Squid and the Whale”)

3:00 PM:  TRAPPED……BURIED ALIVE  The biggest avalanche the country has ever seen.  Starring Jack Wagner (“Melrose Place”) Gabrielle Carteris (“Beverly Hills 90210”)

5:00 PM:  ICEBREAKER  Twenty terrorists on the biggest ski weekend of the year.  Starring Sean Astin (“Rudy,” “Lord of the Rings”), Bruce Campbell (“Evil Dead” series), Golden Globe winner Stacy Keach (“Prison Break” “The Heart is a Lonely Hunter”)

7:00 PM:  RADICAL JACK  They killed his family and Billy Ray Cyrus goes Renegade for Revenge

9:00 PM:  ILLEGAL ALIENS  Three aliens morph into babes and arrive to save the world. Starring Anna Nicole Smith in her final gripping performance.  Camp hit at the Cannes Film Festival 

Sunday, Feb. 21

1:00 PM:  FROZEN IMPACT……NATURE’S FURY UNLEASHED   Unrelenting killer hail and a family racing against time to save the life of their child.  Starring Golden Globe winner Stacy Keach, Linda Purl (“Mighty Joe Young”  “Matlock”)

3:00 PM:  LANDSLIDE Massive landslide at a mountain condo development and a heroic struggle to survive.  Starring Vincent Spano (“Texas Rangers”), Alexandra Paul (“Baywatch” “Melrose Place”.

5:00 PM:  ZOMBIE TOWN  Lethal parasites transform law abiding citizens into cannibalistic zombies.  Blood hungry Grandmothers and lethal domestic animals…….can they survive??” 

Bruce Bouchard, Executive Director, commented, “We thought it would be great fun to put 10 of these locally shot movies together as a weekend festival so that South Central Vermont residents could see their town undergoing all manner of havoc and challenges, spot their performances and even see buildings that no longer exist.”  Dave has been kind enough to donate the use of his films, it works as a benefit for the Paramount and we hope it will touch a fun chord with the audience.”

It has always been in the mission of EDGEWOOD STUDIOS to give back to this fine community.  Nothing could delight me more than having them seen on our brand new 29’ X 23’ screen at the Paramount.  It is especially satisfying given that my Mom and Dad were so deeply and lovingly involved in the saving and transformation of our beautiful and historic landmark theatre.  Come one come all and have a blast.”
