Continuing Education Workshops at Brattleboro Retreat
Brattleboro Retreat’s Continuing Education Series Begins September 25
BRATTLEBORO—The Brattleboro Retreat will offer seventeen all day workshops for mental health professionals this fall beginning Friday, September 25th with “A New Look at Relapse Prevention” presented by Gerald D. Shulman, M.A., M.A.C., FACATA
Shulman, a clinical psychotherapist, has been treating, training and consulting full time in the field of substance abuse since 1962. He is co-author of all three versions of the ASAM Placement Criteria and was a group facilitator for two Center for Substance Abuse Treatment Improvement Protocols through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
On Friday, October 2nd, Janet Campbell, PhD, will present, “Working with Supervision Challenges.” Dr. Campbell, faculty member of both the University of Houston and The University of Houston/Clear Lake, has authored two books: “Becoming an Effective Supervisor: A Workbook for Counselors and Therapists,” and The Essentials of Clinical Supervision.”
Both Shulman and Campbell will offer their workshops at the Brattleboro Retreat campus.
The Brattleboro Retreat’s Continuing Education Program will also continue its recent expansion by offering conferences once again in Montpelier, Vermont and in Holyoke, Massachusetts. The series in Montpelier at the Capitol Plaza Hotel will start on Thursday, October 15th with Dr. Karen Saakvitne presenting “Changing Intergenerational Patterns: Working with Survivor Parents”. Dr. Craig Johnson will begin the Holyoke series at the Log Cabin on Thursday October 22nd focused on “Understanding and Treating Eating Disorders”.
