The Vermont Auto Enthusiasts celebrate 53 years of Vermont's largest and longest running Antique and Classic Car Show this weekend in Stowe by gathering over 700 antique and classic motor vehicles of every description. This year's show will feature antique cars and trucks, classics, muscle cars, street rods, military vehicles, motorcycles and pre 1916 "Brass Era" vehicles. The three-day event kicks off Friday, August 13th with a field full of antique vehicles and a huge automotive flea market and car corral, which will be in full swing all three days.

In addition, for the first time ever, the search is on for the oldest car in Vermont. The oldest runing gas powered car to register at the show will be awarded $500 cash and complimentary lodging at one of Stowe's premier resorts for the 2011 Stowe Antique and Classic Car Meet.

On Saturday the show features fashion judging in the morning followed by the traditional parade of Show vehicles through the streets of Stowe beginning at 3:30. The evening features "Happy Day's" cars lining Main Street in Stowe Village for a good old Rock & Roll Street Dance.

Sunday finds all vehicles on Nichols Field for the judges to inspect and choose the top three for each of the 47 classes. Early afternoon will see the presentation of awards for all classes plus special awards for President's Choice, Best of Show, Canadian Award, and of course Vermont's oldest running car.

Show hours are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is only $10 per person; seniors 60 and over only $8, and children 12 and under are free.
