"The Summer of Walter Hacks" screening at Catamount Arts Center's film festival
THIRD SCREENING OF POPULAR VERMONT INDIE FILM ADDED TO THE CATAMOUNT ARTS
CENTER'S FESTIVAL
Director George Woodard and Producer Gerianne Smart are pleased to announce that their film, "The Summer of Walter Hacks" has been given a third screening at the Catamount Arts Center's film festival the weekend of April 9th through the 11th, in St. Johnsbury. "Tickets sales are really strong for this film", said theater manager Jerry
Aldredge, "so not only did we move the Friday night screening to a larger theater we had to add a matinee on Sunday, April 11th at 12:00 noon!"
The film will screen the following times and locations:
Friday, April 9th, 8:00pm at the Catamount Arts Center
Sunday, April 11th, 12:00 noon at the Morse Center for the Arts, St.
Johnsbury Academy.
Sunday, April 11th, 8:00pm at Catamount Arts Center.
The filmmakers plan to attend the Friday, April 9th as well as the Sunday
matinee screenings.
"The Summer of Walter Hacks" is one of twenty films being screened at the Catamount Arts Center as part of this festival, which is an "offshoot" of the Green Mountain Film Festival. The Green Mountain Film Festival just completed its 10-day run in Montpelier and "The Summer of Walter Hacks" film sold out both performances immediately. "We are very gratified that people are wanting to see our film and are enjoying our film", said producer Gerianne Smart. The filmmakers have no plans to create a DVD of their work as the film rights are only secured for festival screenings so the only way to see the film is via a festival. "We show some old westerns movie film clips in our film as well as use certain songs which makes full distribution rights out of the question. But seeing it at festivals is great!" says Smart. For tickets and information call The Catamount Arts Center at 802-748-2600 or visit their website at www.catamountarts.org. Information about the film can be found at www.pastureproductions.com or on their Facebook fan page under the film's title, search "The Summer of Walter Hacks". The film will also be screened as part of the White River Indie Fest, June 4 through 6, www.wrif.org.
