Vermont Woodlands Association announces that their annual meeting will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. The meeting will be held at Judd Hall at Vermont Technical Center in Randolph. The day's events begin with coffee and registration at 8:30 am.

On Tuesday, April 3, 2012 between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM, The Associated General Contractors of Vermont (AGC/VT), Vermont’s leading construction association, will be hosting a “Stand Down for Safety” training. AGC/VT members and nonmembers will conduct 30-minute training on their jobsites in anticipation of the Vermont construction season. Multiple sites will conduct the “Stand down for Safety.”

Dental sealants act as a barrier, protecting teeth against decay-causing bacteria. Saint Michael’s College is hosting “Manifold Greatness: The Creation and Afterlife of the King James Bible,” a national traveling exhibition for libraries that tells the story of the origins, creation, and impact of one of the most influential books in history. The college won a competitive $2,500 grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to bring the exhibit to the Saint Michael's College Durick Library.
Kathy Andrus from the Vermont Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration will pre-sent a workshop on the WOSB program. Chris Herriman from the Vermont Small Business Development Center/Vermont Procurement Technical Assistance Center will guide you through the government contracting process. In what’s fast becoming a spring tradition in Vermont, more than 30,000 residents across the state will take to the pavement on April 25 for National Walk at Lunch Day. Currently in its sixth year, National Walk at Lunch Day is an annual health promotion celebrated by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont (BCBSVT) and other associated Blue Cross Blue Shield organizations across the United States. Last year about 25,000 residents laced up their walking shoes to take part in the walk.

"GEN Silent" exposes the discrimination directed at LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) seniors. The LGBT seniors profiled in the documentary express their fear regarding the treatment they may receive in senior housing, nursing homes, and by care providers.

A series of public meetings will be held in January to gather comments on the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources’ Draft Basin 6 Water Quality Management Plan covering the Missisquoi Bay watershed. The public is invited to attend the meetings, hear a presentation on the plan and offer their comments and suggestions.
