SOUTH ROYALTON, VT –– Vermont Law School will host an IRS workshop for small and medium-sized non-profit organizations in northern New England from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 12.
Vermont Technical College in Randolph Center will be transformed into an exposition of career and educational opportunities for high school girls on Thursday, October 13 as Vermont Works for Women hosts its twelth annual Women Can Do conference! The conference, which runs from 8:45 am to 2:45 pm, boosts the profile of women working in non-traditional fields and encourages girls to take technical courses, enroll at technical high schools, and consider non-traditional careers.
The Expo will be at beautiful Lake Morey Resort, Fairlee, Vermont. Registration opens at 8:00 and includes continental breakfast with an opportunity to network and visit our vendor booths. The program begins at 9:00 and will include a Workers Compensation Update from Steve Monahan, Director of the Workers’ Compensation Division of the Vermont Department of Labor, addresses from the 2010 Governors Award winners (IBM and Long Trail Brewing), and workshops on Noise & Hearing Conservation, Machine Guarding & Lockout/Tagout, and Energizing Your Safety Program.

The forum will feature a keynote address from Dr. Josephine Briggs, the director of the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine.

On Monday, October 18th, Brattleboro Memorial Hospital surgeon Joseph Rosen, MD, will present a program called “Mammography Screening – For Whom, When, and Why?”.
