Southern Vermont College is introducing a new, eight-session program this summer so that aspiring business leaders may earn an E4 Certificate in Organizational Excellence. Based on criteria for the National Malcolm Baldrige Award, often viewed as the highest standards for quality in the industry, the E4 program stands for Efficiency, Effectiveness, Enrichment and Excellence.
The Brattleboro Retreat will host its 5th Annual Golf Tournament at the Brattleboro Country Club in Brattleboro, VT on Wednesday, August 4th. All proceeds will help support therapeutic recreational activities for children.
Over the years the Retreat Golf Tournament has earned a reputation for providing a fun day for all. Each player will enjoy a hearty bag lunch, a day of golf, and a scrumptious dinner buffet. Registration begins at 10:30 am; shotgun start at 12 pm; dinner is at 5:30 pm. Awards, raffles, and an auction start during dinner around 6 pm.

Sam Palmisano of Pulcinella's will try to defend his title as Top Chef at the fourth annual Top Chef of the Champlain Valley, an Iron Chef Experience to benefit CVAA's Meals on Wheels and Case Management programs. Last year CVAA delivered over 220,000 Meals on Wheels in the Champlain Valley to homebound seniors. Palmisano will go head to head with Donnell Collins of Leunig's Bistro and Kevin DesChenes of 156 Bistro on August 9 at UVM's Davis Center in Burlington to prove they have what it takes to be the Top Chef.

The Vermont Auto Enthusiasts celebrate 53 years of Vermont's largest and longest running Antique and Classic Car Show this weekend in Stowe by gathering over 700 antique and classic motor vehicles of every description. This year's show will feature antique cars and trucks, classics, muscle cars, street rods, military vehicles, motorcycles and pre 1916 "Brass Era" vehicles. The three-day event kicks off Friday, August 13th with a field full of antique vehicles and a huge automotive flea market and car corral, which will be in full swing all three days.

Gifford Medical Center’s fifth annual Last Mile Ride will rev into a town near you on Saturday, August 21st. The annual charity motorcycle ride benefits Gifford patients at the end-of-life or in advanced illness.
Gifford in Randolph provides special care in a garden-side suite, the Garden Room, for patients at the end of life and to their grieving families. The medical center also has an Advanced Illness Care Team dedicated to improving care for all in advanced illness and even has specially trained palliative care physicians.
